Software Features - How It Works (Click here for guided tour)

The user interface is comprised of three windows:

 CONTENT WINDOW
 INDEX WINDOW
 VISUAL CATEGORY MAP

Users access a posting and its associated comments via the CONTENT WINDOWwhich also displays the combined ratings other people have given this posting.  Below the posting, three scrollable comments windows show supporting, opposing, and additional comments, providing for unlimited group feedback.  Each comment window is automatically sorted by an agreement level rating, allowing the strongest arguments on both sides of any issue to appear side-by-side below the posting itself.  Thus the system quantifies and sorts contents by support level as well as by aggregate multiple-criteria ratings.

This format provides a "reality-check" on comments, and eliminates the redundency and questionable reliability that often frustrate users of conventional message board and threaded-discussion systems.  Content may be contributed by staff experts as well as the general public.Instant email links facilitate peer-to-peer communication and the creation of loyal online communities.

The INDEX WINDOW sorts postings using both a Quick Sort pull-down menu, as well as a Personal Preference box.  Criteria will vary according to the topic, but generally include measures of quality or value, or measures of reliability such as the number of supporting user comments.  The custom sorting feature ensures that the material most closely matching the user's criteria of value will rise to the top of each list of postings.

The VISUAL CATEGORY MAP allows users to easily navigate the entire site, finding information they need quickly.  The knowledge base is self-organizing and expands to accommodate new topic divisions.  New topics, sub-topics and postings are automatically added to the map, dynamically updating the knowledge base.  New topics may be added by users or may be limited to forum hosts.  A search function is also available on every page, allowing users to locate any category or word in the knowledge base.
